      Autumnwood Place Structure Fire
      01/25/21 - South Metro Firefighters IAFF LOCAL 2086
      At 11:21 P.M. on Thursday, January 21, 2021, Local members responded to a reported house fire on Autumnwood Place in Highlands Ranch. The 911 caller reported hearing a loud noise and saw flames in a bathroom. Thankfully no one in the home was injured and they safely evacuated outside. First arriving members observed smoke visible from the 2nd floor.

      On Tuesday January 19, 2021 just after 10:15 a.m., Local members responded to a house fire on S. Krameria Way in Centennial. A group of workers at a home across the street reported flames and smoke coming out of a chimney. Members from Engine 33 arrived on scene and found active fire coming from the chimney.

      Emeritus Award for L2687 Member

      January 20, 2021 Emeritus status is an honorary designation conferred upon a member to recognize their contributions and accomplishments over their careers. During last night’s Local 2687 monthly meeting (1/19/21), Past President Kurt Vogt was unanimously voted to Emeritus status. Kurt has been heavily involved with union activities for the better part of 20 years.
      It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired Captain Michael Horn.

      It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired Captain Michael Horn. Captain Horn passed away on January 17th, 2021 after a brief battle with illness. Mike was hired by The City of Canton on April 24,1989 and was promoted to the rank of Captain on April, 13th 2002. Prior to being hired with CFD, he served in the United States Air Force.

Scott is a 24 year veteran of the fire service and brings along a plethora of experience and knowledge with him. Scott began his career in Bethlehem Twp. as a volunteer firefighter while he attended college for business, marketing and accounting.

      Local 21 regrets to announce the passing of retired Firefighter George F. Ubel. Firefighter Ubel started with the Saint Paul Fire Department on January 01, 1958 and retired in 1991 from Ladder 24 on the A Shift. George F. Ubel George passed away on January 09, 2021 at the age of 91.

      The Federation of State and Provincial Professional Fire Fighters (FSPPFF) held its officer elections by mail-in ballot and virtual submission in December. Two officers – Chair Pete Carozza (Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters of Connecticut) and Vice-Chair Bobby Lee (Hawaii State Fire Fighters Association) were re-elected to their positions.
